Assembly Bill 263: Revises provisions governing notice requirements for change in health insurance program for public employees. (BDR 23‑1313)

Senator Raggio declared A.B. 263 an emergency measure.  Assemblywoman Guinchigliani explained the necessity to change Nevada Revised Statute (NRS) 287.043 (2)(d) to read: “The notice must be provided at least 30 days before the date a State officer, employee, retired employee or other person is required to select or change his policy of health insurance.”  She stated there was no objection to the passage by the State of Nevada Employees’ Association or any other group, but said the cost of printing information sent to employees and retirees regarding the passage of A.B. 263 would be costly.

Assemblyman Arberry stated the purpose of A.B. 263 was to narrow the time period of notice from 60 to 30 days.

SENATOR RAWSON MOVED TO DO PASS A.B. 263.
