The Senate Committee on Human Resources and Facilities was called to order by Chairman Raymond D. Rawson, at 10:35 a.m., on Friday, February 7, 2003, on the Senate Floor of the Legislative Building, Carson City, Nevada. There was no Agenda. There was no Attendance Roster.

BILL DRAFT REQUEST R-289: Urges agencies in Clark County to cooperate in establishment of plan for suicide prevention in Clark County. (Later introduced as Senate Concurrent Resolution 5.)

 

            SENATOR WASHINGTON MOVED TO INTRODUCE BDR R-289.

 

            SENATOR CEGAVSKE SECONDED THE MOTION.

 

            THE MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.

BILL DRAFT REQUEST R-290: Urges Clark County Health District to plan and coordinate public information campaign relating to suicide prevention and expand injury prevention efforts in Clark County. (Later introduced as Senate Concurrent Resolution 4.)

 

            SENATOR WASHINGTON MOVED TO INTRODUCE BDR R-290.

 

            SENATOR CEGAVSKE SECONDED THE MOTION.

 

            THE MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.

BILL DRAFT REQUEST R-291: Urges each community in Nevada to form coalition of agencies and service providers to reduce number of suicides and provide support for survivors. (Later introduced as Senate Concurrent Resolution 3.)

            SENATOR CEGAVSKE SECONDED THE MOTION.
