The Senate Committee on Human Resources and Facilitieswas called to order by Chairman Raymond D. Rawson, at 10:50 a.m., on Monday, March 24, 2003, on the Senate Floor of the Legislative Building, Carson City, Nevada. There was no Agenda. There was no Attendance Roster.

Chairman Rawson requested committee introduction of seven bill draft requests (BDRs), BDR 34-450, BDR 40-1247, BDR 42-515, BDR 32-259, BDR 34-1311, BDR 34-153, and BDR 18-1061.

 

BILL DRAFT REQUEST 34-450: Revises provisions governing licensed employees of school districts. (Later introduced as Senate Bill 460.)

 

BILL DRAFT REQUEST 40-1247: Revises amount of limit on income of senior citizens to qualify for subsidy for prescription drugs or pharmaceutical services from money in Fund for a Healthy Nevada. (Later introduced as Senate Bill 459.)

 

BILL DRAFT REQUEST 42-515: Makes various changes to provisions governing State Fire Marshal and fire prevention. (Later introduced as Senate Bill 458.)

 

BILL DRAFT REQUEST 32-259: Increasestax on cigarettes and revisesmanner in which revenue from tax is allocated. (Later introduced as Senate Bill 461.)

 

BILL DRAFT REQUEST 34-1311: Prohibits use of false or misleading educational credentials. (Later introduced as Senate Bill 457.)

 

BILL DRAFT REQUEST 34-153: Revises various provisions of Uniform Athletes’ Agent Act. (Later introduced as Senate Bill 456.)

 

BILL DRAFT REQUEST 18-1061: Creates Division of Minority Health within Department of Human Resources. (Later introduced as Senate Bill 462.)

 

SENATOR WASHINGTON MOVED TO INTRODUCE BDR 34-450, BDR 40‑1247, BDR 42-515, BDR 32-259, BDR 34-1311, BDR 34‑153, and BDR 18-1061.

 

SENATOR NOLAN SECONDED THE MOTION.

 

THE MOTION CARRIED. (SENATOR WIENER WAS ABSENT FOR THE VOTE.)
