The Senate Committee on Judiciarywas called to order by Chairman Mark E. Amodei, at 11:16 a.m., on Wednesday, May 28, 2003, on the Senate Floor of the Legislative Building, Carson City, Nevada. Exhibit A is the Agenda. There was no Attendance Roster. All exhibits are available and on file at the Research Library of the Legislative Counsel Bureau.

Chairman Amodei presented Assembly Bill (A.B.) 7 for the consideration of the committee. He also presented information provided by Nevada Office of Traffic Safety (Exhibit B). Committee Counsel, Bradley Wilkinson, provided a brief summary concerning the change of impairment level allowed under existing statute. It was also pointed out that continued federal funding depended upon passage of this bill.

 

ASSEMBLY BILL 7 (2nd Reprint): Reduces concentration of alcohol that may be present in blood or breath of person while operating vehicle or vessel. (BDR 43-17)

SENATOR NOLAN SECONDED THE MOTION.
