The Senate Committee on Legislative Affairs and Operationswas called to order by Chairman Maurice E. Washington, at 11:15 a.m., on Monday, March 10, 2003, on the Senate Floor of the Legislative Building, Carson City, Nevada. There was no Agenda. There was no Attendance Roster.

Chairman Washington opened the meeting and said the committee had Bill Draft Request (BDR) R-1291 for introduction.

 

BILL DRAFT REQUEST R-1291: Requests Congress to vote on appointment of Miguel A. Estrada to United States Court of Appeals. (Later introduced as Senate Joint Resolution 6.)

 


SENATOR RAGGIO MOVED TO INTRODUCE BDR R-1291.

 

SENATOR RAWSON SECONDED THE MOTION.

 

THE MOTION CARRIED. (SENATOR MATHEWS WAS NOT PRESENT FOR THE VOTE.)

Senator Mike McGinness, Central Nevada Senatorial District, requested the committee to draft a resolution to congratulate the Mineral High School Girls Basketball Team for their tenth consecutive winning season. The committee members indicated they believed it was a good idea.

 

Chairman Washington adjourned the meeting at 11:18 a.m.
