The Senate Committee on Legislative Affairs and Operationswas called to order by Chairman Maurice E. Washington, at 12:22 p.m., on Sunday, June 1, 2003, on the Senate Floor of the Legislative Building, Carson City, Nevada. There was no Agenda. There was no Attendance Roster.

Chairman Washington explained the Assembly had amended Senate Concurrent Resolution (S.C.R.) 13 with Amendment No. 962, which changed the mandated study areas of the bill.

 

Senator Raggio asked how the amendment changed the bill.

 

Senator Wiener explained the amendment reduced the study points in the bill from ten areas to five areas, and she had worked with the State Health Division to settle on which points were the most important.

 

SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 13 (2nd Reprint): Directs Legislative Committee on Health Care to conduct interim study concerning medical and societal costs and impacts of obesity in Nevada. (BDR R-25)

 

SENATOR WIENER MOVED TO CONCUR WITH AMENDMENT NO. 962 TO S.C.R. 13.

 

SENATOR CEGAVSKE SECONDED THE MOTION.

 

THE MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
