AN ACT relating to children; revising certain provisions relating to awards of money made by the Committee for Protection of Children from the Children’s Trust Account to certain agencies, organizations or institutions; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN
SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
1-1 Section 1. NRS 432.139 is hereby amended to read as follows:
1-2 432.139 The Committee for Protection of Children shall:
1-3 1. Make [annual] awards of money from the Children’s Trust
1-4 Account to agencies of the State or its political subdivisions, and
1-5 nonprofit community organizations or educational institutions which
1-6 provide or will provide services for the prevention of the abuse or
1-7 neglect of children. The duration of an award granted pursuant to
1-8 this subsection must not exceed 3 years.
1-9 2. Adopt by regulation criteria to determine which programs
1-10 and services are eligible for an award of money [under] pursuant to
1-11 subsection 1.
