AN ACT making an appropriation to the Department of Transportation for the design of fencing and an underpass for that portion of State Route 159 from the Blue Diamond turnoff to the northeast corner of Red Rock Canyon Park; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN
SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
1-1 Section 1. There is hereby appropriated from the State General
1-2 Fund to the Department of Transportation the sum of $130,000 for
1-3 expenses relating to:
1-4 1. The compensation of surveyors to determine the location of
1-5 the State’s rights-of-way along State Route 159 from the Blue
1-6 Diamond turnoff to the northeast corner of the Red Rock Canyon
1-7 Park;
1-8 2. The design of fencing along that portion of the highway;
1-9 3. The location and design of cattle guards along that portion of
1-10 the highway; and
2-1 4. The identification of two locations for underpasses for
2-2 burros and other livestock and for the design of at least one of those
2-3 underpasses along that portion of the highway.
2-4 Sec. 2. Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by
2-5 section 1 of this act must not be committed for expenditure after
2-6 June 30, 2005, and reverts to the State General Fund as soon as all
2-7 payments of money committed have been made.
2-8 Sec. 3. This act becomes effective on July 1, 2003.
