AN ACT relating to energy; excluding tires from the definition of “biomass” for the purposes of energy policy, public utilities, the portfolio standard for renewable energy net metering and optional pricing; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN
SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
1-1 Section 1. NRS 701.030 is hereby amended to read as follows:
1-2 701.030 1. “Biomass” means any organic matter that is
1-3 available on a renewable basis, including, without limitation:
1-4 [1.] (a) Agricultural crops and agricultural wastes and residues;
1-5 [2.] (b) Wood and wood wastes and residues;
1-6 [3.] (c) Animal wastes;
1-7 [4.] (d) Municipal wastes; and
1-8 [5.] (e) Aquatic plants.
1-9 2. As used in this section, “municipal wastes” does not
1-10 include a tire for any vehicle or device in, upon or by which any
1-11 person or property is or may be transported or drawn upon land.
2-1 Sec. 2. NRS 704.007 is hereby amended to read as follows:
2-2 704.007 1. “Biomass” means any organic matter that is
2-3 available on a renewable basis, including, without limitation:
