AN ACT making an appropriation to the Department of Education for certain nonprofit public broadcasting stations that primarily serve the educational, informational and cultural needs of communities in Nevada; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN

SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

 

1-1  Section 1. There is hereby appropriated from the State General

1-2  Fund to the Department of Education the sum of $300,000 for the

1-3  support of nonprofit public broadcasting stations in Nevada whose

1-4  programs are devoted primarily to serving the educational,

1-5  informational and cultural needs of the communities in Nevada.

1-6  Sec. 2.  Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by

1-7  section 1 of this act must not be committed for expenditure after

1-8  June 30, 2005, and reverts to the State General Fund as soon as all

1-9  payments of money committed have been made.

1-10      Sec. 3.  This act becomes effective upon passage and approval.
