AN ACT relating to revision of statutes; requiring the development of biennial recommendations for the elimination of obsolete or antiquated statutes; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN

SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

 

1-1  Section 1. Chapter 218 of NRS is hereby amended by adding

1-2  thereto a new section to read as follows:

1-3  The Legislative Counsel and the Research Director shall work

1-4  collaboratively to develop recommendations for the elimination of

1-5  obsolete or antiquated provisions contained in the Nevada Revised

1-6  Statutes. The recommendations, if any, must be presented to the

1-7  Legislative Commission on or before July 1 of each even-

1-8  numbered year. The Legislative Commission shall, as it deems

1-9  appropriate, request the preparation of a bill draft to facilitate the

1-10  recommendations.

1-11      Sec. 2.  NRS 220.080 is hereby amended to read as follows:

1-12      220.080  The Legislative Counsel shall, from time to time:

1-13      1.  Make recommendations to the Legislature for clarification of

1-14  specific statutes.

1-15      2.  [Make recommendations to the Legislature for elimination

1-16  of obsolete statutes.


2-1  3.] Call the attention of the Legislature to conflicting statutes,

2-2  and such other matter as he deems necessary.
