1-4 who have enjoyed a performance by this world-class entertainer;
1-5 and
1-6 Whereas, Since he was 15 years old, Sonny King has been
1-7 delighting audiences with songs, jokes and comedy routines on

1-9 “comedic flair” with “the easy approach of Sinatra”; and

1-21 because the audience felt their love of showmanship and never grew
1-22 tired of watching the two of them have a good time on stage; and
2-1 Whereas, After being introduced to Frank Sinatra, Sonny
2-2 became a close friend of the “Rat Pack,” was affectionately
2-3 nicknamed the “Lounge Giant” by that group, who defined “cool”
2-4 during the early 1960s, and demonstrated his extensive talent by
2-5 writing many of the one-liners and jokes that Sinatra used on Dean
2-6 Martin when the two of them performed their act; and

2-29 from his audiences, Sonny has received awards such as induction
2-30 into the Casino Legends Hall of Fame at the Tropicana and the
2-31 Lifetime Achievement Award of the Variety Club International; and
2-32 Whereas, Although one might think that after 6 decades filled
2-33 with such expense of energy and accomplishments Sonny King
2-34 would be ready to retire and “take it easy,” he still loves performing
2-35 and living his belief that “he was put on this earth to serve and

2-37 audience to forget their troubles for as long as he is on stage, then he
2-38 is serving his purpose on this earth”; now, therefore, be it
