Senate RESOLUTION—Commending Ronnie W. Flud upon his retirement from public service.

 

1-1  Whereas, Ronnie W. Flud has been affiliated with the Clark

1-2  County Coroner’s Office since September of 1984 and served as the

1-3  first paid Coroner of Clark County; and

1-4  Whereas, Despite the unprecedented growth that Clark County

1-5  has experienced over the last 20 years, the corresponding growth of

1-6  the Clark County Coroner’s Office, and numerous high-profile

1-7  cases, Ronnie Flud has maintained the dignity and decorum befitting

1-8  the Coroner’s Office; and

1-9  Whereas, Ronnie Flud has had the forethought, vision and

1-10  expertise to manage the growth of the Coroner’s Office by

1-11  designing a facility that not only addresses the needs of today but

1-12  will address the needs of the future of Clark County; and

1-13      Whereas, Ronnie Flud has served on numerous public boards

1-14  and committees and has been responsible for imparting appropriate

1-15  information to the community in a timely and effective manner; and

1-16      Whereas, Ronnie Flud initiated, with the assistance of Senators

1-17  Dennis Nolan and Valerie Wiener, the first Youthful Offender

1-18  Program in the State of Nevada, which has resulted in a recidivism

1-19  rate less than any other program in Clark County; and

1-20      Whereas, Ronnie Flud championed the education of youth in

1-21  an effort to prevent further deaths in Clark County; and


2-1  Whereas, Ronnie Flud has been a true example of leadership,

2-2  compassion and professionalism in representing Clark County and

2-3  the residents of this state; and

2-4  Whereas, Ronnie Flud invested countless hours of his own

2-5  personal time into his career, not for his own benefit, but for the

2-6  benefit of those who have served with him and have had the

2-7  pleasure, honor and opportunity to share in that experience; and

2-8  Whereas, As the end of a remarkable career that spanned 3

2-9  decades approaches, Ronnie Flud can look back at his time as a

2-10  street police officer for the City of North Las Vegas, an investigator

2-11  and undercover narcotics officer for the State of Nevada, and Chief

2-12  Deputy Coroner and Coroner for Clark County and take pride in the

2-13  knowledge that he was an inspiration and role model to those who

2-14  knew and worked with him; now, therefore, be it

2-15      Resolved by the Senate of the State of Nevada, That

2-16  Ronnie W. Flud is hereby commended for his many years of

2-17  exemplary public service to the State of Nevada; and be it further

2-18      Resolved, That this day be designated “Ronnie W. Flud Day”

2-19  in the Senate; and be it further

2-20      Resolved, That the Secretary of the Senate prepare and

2-21  transmit a copy of this resolution to Ronnie W. Flud.
