Effective June 7, 2019, for the purposes of: (a)recruiting and selecting the Executive Director and employees of the Department of Indigent Defense Services created by section 9 of this act, and performing any other preliminary administrative tasks that are necessary to carry out the provisions of this act; and (b) appointing members to the Board on Indigent Defense Services created by section 6 of this act. Members must be appointed by the Governor, the Majority Leader of the Senate, the Speaker of the Assembly and the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, as applicable, as soon as practicable and assume their positions on July 1, 2019. Effective October 1, 2019, for all other purposes. |
